1. Position Summary
National ICT Australia (NICTA) is Australia’s ICT Research Centre of
Excellence. NICTA brings together world-class researchers and professional
staff to enhance their skills and build a culture of entrepreneurship and
achievement in use-inspired research. This will build Australia's ICT
capacity into the future. The research position will form part of an
interdisciplinary team of researchers, postgraduate students and
collaborators from various life-sciences research institutes and industry
pursuing bio-medical research and development. Applicants are sought to
carry out research on biomechanical modeling and simulation of human
motion. The appointee will be expected to develop and use advanced
computer models in the study of human movement. You will have demonstrated
knowledge, skills, and experience in general biomechanics of the human
musculoskeletal system, as well as core knowledge in dynamic systems,
control theory and numerical simulation.
2. Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will have a PhD or equivalent degree in
mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field. The
appointee must be able to work as part of a team and communicate
effectively with a range of people from both industrial and research
environments.
This position is based at the University of Melbourne and the successful
candidate will be working closely with Professor Marcus Pandy and the
