The Neuroplasticity and Imaging Laboratory directed Dr. Beth
Fisher, Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy, University of
Southern California will provide a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
(TMS) training course during summer and are welcome all the faculties
and students who are interested to join in. See Below for further
informations.
Thank you.

TMS is developing as a powerful non-invasive tool for studying
the human brain. It is used both to measure and modulate brain
excitability. TMS used in conjunction with other neuroimaging techniques
can provide greater insight into human brain function.
The course is designed for graduate students, researchers, and
clinicians who are interested in studying brain function by using TMS.
This is a one week intensive training course in the theory and
practice underlying the use of TMS in brain research. The course uses
both lecture and laboratory format. The course includes hands-on
practice of all the most commonly used TMS research techniques including
single pulse, paired-pulse, repetitive TMS and brain navigation system
(Brainsight).
The course will be held on August 20 - August 24, 2007; 8:00 am
to 5:00 pm in the Neuroplasticity and Imaging Laboratory (NAIL) on the
Health Sciences Campus of the University of Southern California.
How to Apply: Fill out the application form and email it to
Caroline Tan (carolint@usc.edu) before June 15th, 2007. Registration is
limited and applications will be prioritized in the order they are
received. Registration approval notification will be sent out by e-mail
on June 20, 2007.

Course Fee: (50% deposit required by July 1, 2007)
Fee includes handouts, experimental supplies, certification and
breakfast/lunch.
Non-student Fee (faculty/clinicians/researchers): $750.00
Student Fee(with USC ID): $200.00

* This course is required for anyone planning to use the TMS
equipment in NAIL for future research.
