The Faculty of Health Science's Discipline of Exercise and Sport Science
comprises an enthusiastic team of scientists in exercise physiology,
biomechanics and motor control. It possesses world-class facilities for
research in these areas and their application to sports performance,
healthy ageing, disease and disability prevention and treatment, injury
prevention and health promotion. The Discipline is seeking to appoint a
highly-motivated Senior Lecturer with an established research profile
and strong publication record to make a significant contribution to the
Discipline's research and teaching programs in Biomechanics. This
appointment is suited to someone with a strong background in the
analysis of human movement, including three-dimensional kinematics,
kinetics and rigid body dynamics. Less experienced candidates who show
outstanding potential are welcome to apply for appointment at Lecturer
level.
The appointee will pursue an innovative research program, supervise
postgraduate research students and teach Biomechanics. Exceptional
communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to
work well within a multidisciplinary team, will be crucial. The
appointee will be a productive researcher and experienced teacher who is
willing to contribute to administration aspects associated with this
role. Desirable will be an understanding of the discipline of Exercise
and Sport Science, expertise in ergonomics, and experience in Matlab and
SIMM.
This position is full-time continuing, subject to the completion of a
satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a
University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment
for new appointees. Level of appointment and remuneration will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience. An attractive salary
will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
