Computer simulation models of jumping: Individual muscles or joint torque generators?
£11,000 per annum plus home fees.
A fundamental issue to all muscle-driven computer simulation models in biomechanics is the complexity of muscle model required for accurate simulation.
Individual muscle models and joint torque models will be compared for accuracy in estimating net joint torque during isovelocity dynamometer trials and jumping trials.
The purpose is to establish the most appropriate level of complexity required for simulation models of jumping.
Applicants should have a good first degree in Sports Science, Human Movement Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computing or other related discipline.
