The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory, a part of the Sensory Motor
Performance Program at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, is
currently seeking a full-time research engineer to act as lab
manager. The focus of the laboratory is to study the normal,
pathologic, and rehabilitation biomechanics of the upper limb.
Current projects in the lab include biomechanical modeling and
experimental quantification of arm and hand function in the
    nonimpaired and paralyzed limb.

The primary focus of this position is experimental musculoskeletal
biomechanics, including using dynamometers to quantify strength,
recording and analyzing EMGs, measuring kinematics, analysis of
experimental data, developing project-related software, and
    maintaining laboratory hardware.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering,
biomedical engineering, or related field, with experience working in
    a laboratory setting.

The Sensory Motor Performance Program at the Rehabilitation Institute
of Chicago is devoted to the study of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular
and sensory disorders that are associated with abnormal control of
posture and movement. The RIC is a Northwestern University affiliated
academic hospital, offering rehabilitation care to patients with an
array of neural and musculoskeletal disorders. Faculty members have
appointments in the Feinberg School of Medicine and the McCormick
School of Engineering & Applied Science, which are both part of
