MOTION ANALYSIS LAB ENGINEER
Shriners Hospitals for Children - Shreveport, Louisiana, a 45-bed JCAHO
accredited pediatric orthopedic hospital, is currently seeking a dynamic
and motivated engineer for our Motion Analysis Laboratory.
Job Summary: The Motion Analysis Lab at SHC provides pre-operative and
post-operative gait analyses of children with cerebral palsy and other
gait/movement disorders. The Motion Analysis Lab is also involved in
designing and implementing clinical research protocols. Primary
responsibilities include collecting, processing and analyzing kinematic,
kinetic and EMG data; maintaining lab equipment and patient database;
installing hardware and software.
Experience working with the following equipment is desirable:
8 camera Vicon Data Capture System
3 AMTI Force Plates
16 channel EMG MA300 System
Novel Pedography System
Muscle Modeling Software
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Biomedical or Biomechanical Engineering and one year
of experience specializing in gait and motion analysis is required.
Ability to develop and evaluate biomechanical models and computer based
systems to measure human movement.
Excellent programming skills and experience in Microsoft Excel, Access,
PowerPoint and Visual Basic language.
Experience with statistical analysis and SPSS software is preferred.
Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide the best
possible care to our pediatric patients (ages 4-18), in a
family-centered care environment.
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
