Dear All,
Call for delegate for the upcoming Science, Technology and Research into
Sports Surfaces (STARSS) conference to be held at Loughborough University,
UK on the 17th and 18th September 2007.
Early registration has been extended to the 31st August and costs £175 for
SportSURF members. The registration fee includes 2 day attendance, all day
refreshments, hot lunch, snacks and 3 course evening meal. A proceedings of
the materials presentation at the conference is also included as part of the
registration. If you are not currently a SportSURF member you can ‘sign-up’
for free on the SportSURF website www.sportSURF.org.
Presentations for the two days are split into 5 main sessions:
* Biomechanics
* Maintenance and Environment
* Test Methods
* Measurements and Modelling
* Yarns and Carpet
The full programme is available online at www.sportsurf.org with details of
speakers and timings.
Should I Attend?
The conference is aimed at people involved in all aspects of sports surfaces
including: academic research; industrial research; facilities design &
procurement; construction; manufacturing; sports governance; accredited
surface testing; player/athlete coaching and welfare; and sport and exercise
sciences.
Who will be there?
Current delegates include world leading practitioners (manufactures,
contractors, suppliers, etc…), researchers (both academic and industrial)
and policy makers (including world and national governing bodies).
