Position Available - Biomechanical Lab Engineer for the Experimental
Biomechanics Core of the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering at the
University of Alabama at Birmingham. The mission of the Core is to
provide collaborating investigators with state-of-the-art equipment and
trained personnel to facilitate mechanical testing and measurement of
mechanical properties of biological and man-made materials, structures
and constructs. MS or PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering preferred,
along with 3 years experience in a majority of experimental methods,
including mechanical testing, impact testing, strain gauging,
experimental design, data analysis and statistics. Machine shop
abilities and experience with jig and fixture design required. Duties
will include supervision, training and working with students and
researchers using the Core, as well as assistance with preparation of
related proposals and manuscripts. Salary commensurate with experience
