  • Tenure-track faculty position in Biomedical Engineering at theUniversity of Southern California

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at USC invites applications
for a tenure-track faculty position at all levels in the general area
    of neuroengineering.

    http://bme.usc.edu/directory/faculty/open-positions/

Successful applicants are expected to establish an independent
research program of distinction, as well as effective collaborations
with other USC faculty in engineering and the life sciences.
Particular areas of interest include: neural control of natural or
prosthetic motor function, neural tissue engineering, biomaterials of
neural-abiotic interfaces, molecular and cell biology of engineer-
modified nervous systems, neuromorphic vision systems and neural
coding, and the development of biomimetic hardware/software systems.
The Department includes 12 primary and 55 affiliated faculty with
research strengths in neuroengineering, computational bioengineering,
device/diagnostic technologies, and bioimaging. The Department hosts
4 national centers of funded research: the Biomimetic Microelectronic
Systems Engineering Research Center (BMES-ERC), the Biomedical
Simulations Resource, the Medical Ultrasonic Transducer Technology
Research Center, and the Center for Neural Engineering. It is
anticipated that the successful candidate would work in research
areas related to the mission of the NSF-funded BMES-ERC. New faculty
will also have the opportunity to work with the technology
development staff of the Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical
Engineering at USC, whose role is to translate research products into
commercially viable technologies to improve human health and well-
being. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and research/
education statement along with suggested references by mail and/or e-
    mail to:

    Michael C.K. Khoo, Chair
    Department of Biomedical Engineering,
    DRB-140, University of Southern California,
    Los Angeles, CA 90089-1111
    (email: khoo@usc.edu).

Applicants are encouraged to visit the Department’s web site
(bme.usc.edu) for details on current educational and research programs.
