Title: Senior Biomechanic Research and Testing Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a creative engineer to perform biomechanical performance evaluation activities of medical implants, instrumentation, and materials. This position is also responsible for technical management of biomechanical testing and research projects conducted in-house or by external collaborators in universities and hospitals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and conduct performance evaluation activities of medical implants, instrumentation, and materials.
Manage all aspects of performance evaluation activities from project conception to design verification testing including the compilation of technical reports for regulatory submissions and marketing support materials..
Partner with cross-functional teams in the product development cycle as a primary technical resource.
Operate biomechanical testing and general laboratory equipment to achieve project goals.
Practice and promote good laboratory practices, record keeping, and documentation in order to comply with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
Manage biomechanical testing and research being conducted at outside facilities. Including tracking, coordination, and oversight of the external activities.
Analyze, interpret, and draw conclusions from performance evaluation activities.
Disseminate and present test results and conclusions.
Provide technical support to Product Development, Marketing, Regulatory, and Operations.
Remain current with technology and testing standards within the business. This is accomplished through attending courses both on the engineering and/or technical side, and the medical side.
Provide product design advice based on conclusions drawn from performance evaluation and research activities.
Seek and analyze new technologies for potential product applications.
Provide mentoring to junior staff as appropriate
REQUIREMENTS:
MS in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with minimum of five years medical device testing and or research experience.
