Does anyone known how flat feet (aka Varus or "fallen arches") affect
load bearing capacity of workers? I hear that people with flat feet
cannot join the army because it would allegedly prevent them from be
able to carry a full pack? Is that really true or is it an urban myth?
Why should a flatfooted person be unable to shoulder a heavy load? Would
it hurt their feet too much?
I also hear that ageing can cause the arches of the feet to fall. Does
anyone know whether this is true? If so, at what age is it likely to
occur?
