Edward and Margaret Doisy College of Health Sciences Department of
Physical Therapy New Faculty Position
Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, dedicated to
student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking
applicants for a tenure track 12-month faculty appointment in the
Department of Physical Therapy. The University is a Carnegie Research
Extensive institution and currently employs over 3000 full and
part-time faculty and enrolls more than 11,000 students in the
graduate, professional, and undergraduate programs. The Department of
Physical Therapy is housed in the Allied Health Professions building.
This building has classrooms and laboratories with state-of-the-art
technology including a motion analysis laboratory. There are presently
17 faculty in the Department who teach in the entry-level DPT and
transitional DPT programs, engage in scholarship activities, and
participate in service to the University and the community.
Rank: Assistant/associate professor, tenure track (Based on
qualifications)
Position Qualifications
•Required
o PhD or equivalent degree, emphasis in human movement science
o Experience in research with publication record
o Experience in procuring grant funding
o Eligible for Missouri Physical Therapist licensure
o Teaching experience

Preferred
o Post-doctoral fellowship
Position Expectations
• Research in area of expertise (60-70% of time)
• Procurement of extramural funding
• Teaching in area of expertise
• Participation in University and community service
Specific position duties and salary are dependent on qualifications and
experience. Competitive start up funds are available based on
consideration of candidate’s needs and university resources. Position
