    Applications for Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease Research
    and Care PhD Scholarships




    The Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease Research and Care is
    offering three PhD scholarships of $25,000 per annum for 3 years for
    research into Alzheimer's disease. Our particular research interest for
    the team based in the Vario Health Institute is the impact of exercise
    on disease risk and management. Specific enquiries regarding this aspect
    should be directed to:

    The minimum conditions are:

    o The research must be on Alzheimer's disease.

    o The project must be accepted for a PHD with a Western Australian
    University.

    o The project must be supervised by an experienced researcher from
    a Western Australian University that is affiliated with the Centre.

    o The project must be conducted at a Western Australian
    University.

    o Scholarships are open to national or international students.

    o Students must be enrolled in full time study.



    In submitting an application, the following detail is required in the
    order listed.


    1. Be headed Application for Centre of Excellence for Alzheimer's
    Disease Research and Care PhD Scholarships.


    2. Applicant's name


    3. Name of proposed supervisor/s and their affiliations
    4. Proposed Date of PhD enrolment, Institution and Supervisors
    (state whether part- or full-time enrolment)
    5. Honours degree and date of Award (A photocopy or other evidence
    is required)
    6. Relevant prizes won and year (eg presentations at Scientific
    Meetings)
    7. Scholarships, Travel Awards etc and year awarded.
    8. Published papers in refereed scientific journals.

    DO NOT INCLUDE SUBMITTED PAPERS

    9. Published Abstracts to Scientific Meetings and whether they were
    oral, poster and whether they were international/national or local
    meetings:
    10. Teaching experience (if applicable)
    11. Administrative duties (if applicable)
    12. A one page summary of your PhD project which MUST include and in
    the following order:-

    o Scientific Title

    o Lay Title

    o Aims and Hypothesis

    o Brief Background

    o Methods

    o Milestones

    o Outcomes and Significance

    13. NB. This 1 page contributes substantially to the assessment
    process. You must write it yourself and sign a statement to that effect.

    14. A letter of reference from your proposed supervisor.
    15. If possible, a reference from one other supervisor of research
    you have undertaken.
    16. A copy of your Academic Record.
