  • Post-Doctoral Research Associate; In-Vivo Joint Biomechanics

POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE; IN-VIVO JOINT BIOMECHANICS
    Henry Ford Hospital
    Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
    Bone and Joint Center

A Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available in the area of
in-vivo joint mechanics. Qualifications include a PhD in
bioengineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field with an
    emphasis on joint biomechanics.

The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of six
NIH-funded investigators with complementary research programs examining
various aspects of the musculoskeletal system. The Bone and Joint Center
has expertise and well-equipped facilities for motion analysis,
biomechanics, musculoskeletal modeling, computational mechanics, 3D
imaging, animal models, cell biology, histology, biochemistry and
molecular biology. In addition to excellent conventional facilities for
supporting research in all of these areas, the post-doctoral research
associate will have access to a unique biplane x-ray system designed for
in-vivo measurement of dynamic joint mechanics. The successful
applicant will participate in several on-going projects investigating
in-vivo mechanics of the shoulder, knee, foot/ankle, and spine.
Considerable opportunity will also be provided for the development of an
independent research program. Preference will be given to applicants
with demonstrated research potential, a record of scholarly activity
including peer-reviewed publications, a strong desire for
multidisciplinary collaborations, and expertise in joint biomechanics.

Applicants should send their CV, a statement of their long-term
research goals, and the names and addresses of three references to the
address below. Consideration of applicants will continue until the
    position is filled.
