Dear Colleagues
The abstract submission deadline is quickly approaching for the 16th
Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics, to be held July 6th
- 9th, 2008 in Lucerne, Switzerland. The main thematic tracks for the
meeting are:
Cardiovascular and Biofluid Mechanics
Soft Tissue Mechanics
Bone Mechanics
Mechanobiology and Cell Mechanics
Implant/Joint Biomechanics
Dental Biomechanics
Spine Biomechanics
Human Motion
Injury and Forensic Biomechanics
Simulation and Modelling
Imaging
In cooperation with the European Society for Biomaterials and TERMIS
(Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society),
special sessions will highlight cross-discipline research. The growing
importance of simulation for biomechanical research, pre-clinical
evaluation, diagnostics and treatment will be addressed in a session
focusing on theVirtual Physiological Human (VPH) framework. Breakout
sessions are planned exploring EU funding programs, biomechanical and
biomedical education, industrial collaboration and translational
research.
Further details about the conference, scientific topics and the online
abstract submission process are available on the website and in the
following downloadable brochure:

Important Dates:
November 30th, 2007 Online abstract submission deadline
January 15th, 2008 Notification of acceptance
March 1st, 2008 Early registration deadline
We look forward to welcoming you in Lucerne in 2008 and to a very
successful and rewarding ESB meeting. Please feel free to distribute
