Duties: Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the various progams
within the Department of Health Sciences; conducting research; providing
service to the Programs, Department, the College, the University, and the
Community; and mentoring/advising students. This is a tenure-track position.
The Department consists of six programs: Bachelor of Science in Health
Sciences, Master of Science in Health Sciences, Doctor of Physical Therapy,
Master of Occupational Therapy, and Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in
Speech and Language Pathology. The Department also participates in various
graduate and undergraduate certificate programs. The Department of Health
Sciences is housed within the College of Science.
Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate by August 15, 2008 in a field
related to health sciences; the ability to teach one or more core courses
within the undergraduate and graduate programs, evidence of potential in
research and teaching, and good interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: A record of current publications, grants, or other
scholarly activity; research interests and areas of teaching expertise
aligned with those of the Department; experience in medical care systems;
current license as a healthcare professional; current experience teaching a
complete graduate course in one or more of the following: health care
research, evidence based practice, healthcare issues/policies, pathology,
and leadership roles in health care. In addition, preferred qualifications
include experience in educational technology and distance learning, evidence
of community and professional service, and evidence of excellence in
research and teaching.
