BIOENGINEERING LABORATORY, DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPAEDICS, BROWN ALPERT MEDICAL
SCHOOL and RHODE ISLAND HOSPITAL, Providence, Rhode Island
A full-time position is available in our Bioengineering Laboratory for a
programmer/bioengineer. The responsibilities for this position primarily
include programming and data management for ongoing studies of
musculoskeletal joint mechanics, with current focus on the wrist and upper
extremity. The ideal candidate will have an extremely strong mathematical
background, experience with CT image segmentation (e.g. Mimics), Geomagic,
MATLAB, C++ and OpenInventor, or comparable packages and capabilities. The
candidate will work in a unique environment along side undergraduate and
graduate students in Brown University Biomedical Engineering program,
medical students and resident in the Department of Orthopaedics, as well
clinical and research faculty. The candidate will work directly with J.J.
Trey Crisco, Ph.D. and his collaborators that include computer scientists,
evolutionary biologists, surgeons and anthropologists. In addition, the
candidate will spend approximately one-fifth of their time helping to
managing other project within the Department of Orthopaedics.
The Bioengineering Laboratory is located in Providence, Rhode Island with
easy access to beaches, Boston, MA and the rest of New England.
