I am a Kinesiology student beginning a research project. Iam
looking at the way whitewater slalom canoeists are fitted into their
boats. The goal of the research is to determine if and how a
competative edge may be gained by improving the responsiveness of the
boat through more rigid outfitting. There is very little information
relating specifically to canoe slalom,as it is a relatively obscure
sport. However, I hope to find something out there perhaps in the
field of prosthetics, or other sports where similar types of forces
are transmitted through rigid and semi-rigid equipment. To begin I
need any info I can find to quantify the forces and estimate the
compliance of the soft tissue involved versus the compliance of the
outfitting and supports.
Any info ,or any leads whatsoever appreciated.
