It is our pleasure to announce that the "call for abstracts" for the
first i-FAB congress (International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics
Community) is now OPEN!
Please note:
February 29th - Abstract Submission Deadline
Congress details: 1st i-FAB Congress - 4-6 September 2008
Hosted by Dr Alberto Leardini and colleagues from the
Movement Analysis Laboratory
, Istituti Ortopedici Rizzoli
, Bologna, Italy.
The i-FAB Congress will comprise tutorials, keynote lectures, podium
presentations, chaired poster sessions and two international consensus
meetings. Confirmed keynote speakers are:
1) George Arangio: 'Sailing charted seas: biomechanics and the
orthopedic surgeon'
2) Peter Cavanagh: 'Foot complications of diabetes'
3) Harold Kitaoka: 'Advances in biomechanics of posterior tibial tendon
dysfunction and flatfoot deformity'
4) Mario Lafortune: 'The role of research in the development of athletic
footwear'
5) Sorin Siegler: 'Advances in image-based biomechanics of the human
ankle'
6) Marco Viceconti: 'Multiscale modelling and team science: the future
of orthopaedic biomechanics'
Abstracts are invited for the podium and poster sessions. Abstract
topics and details of the abstract format are available here:
