    The Institute of Sport Science at the University of Münster (Germany)
    invites applications and nominations for the position of a Full
    Professorship in the area of human performance analysis and enhancement in
    sports.

    The successful candidate will have an experiment-oriented research program
    on the basis of empirical validated models and uses advanced mathematical
    and statistical techniques to describe and explain the effects of training
    processes in sports. Furthermore, a strong interest in application-oriented
    research would be desirable. The Professor will be the head of the
    department “Human Performance and Training in Sports” and is responsible for
    the teaching program in this area. The personal teaching obligation will be
    9 hours per week.

    Required qualifications are a qualified degree on an University Master-level
    (M.A., M.S., diploma or equivalent university degrees) as well as a doctoral
    degree in an relevant area for this professorship (cp. HFG NRW, § 36), a
    strong record of research, a visible international orientation, publications
    mainly in international peer reviewed scholarly journals, evidence of
    successful grant activities (in particular from the German Research
    Foundation (DFG) - or other equivalent National funding agencies outside
    from Germany -, and the European Union or other international funding
    organizations) as well as, broad teaching and administrative experience at
    the university level.

    Responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strong independent
    research program with interdisciplinary collaborations that merit extramural
    funding and publishing in high-impact scholarly journals.

    The Institute of Sport Science (www.uni-muenster.de/sportwissenschaft)
    houses 7 professors (sport medicine, movement science, human performance and
    training in sport, sport psychology, sport sociology, sport pedagogy and
    sport history), more than 30 full-time faculty members and nearly 1800
    students, and offers B.A., M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees. The Institute is
    currently planning a Master of Science. The successful candidate is
    encouraged to contribute to this project.

    Knowledge of German language would be desirable, but is not a requirement.
    Applications in English or German language are highly welcome. Applications
    of women are specially invited. In the case of similar qualification,
    competence and specific achievements, women will be considered on
    preferential terms within the framework of legal possibilities. Handicapped
    candidates with equivalent qualifications will be given preference.
