  • Electronic audit trail

    Dear all,

I am a physiotherapist in my 3rd year of a PhD in biomechanics. I am
looking at the stiffness of the lumbar spine during active and passive
motion. This will produce a great deal of electronic data.

I have just attended a course on best practice in research and it was
said that I should keep an electronic audit trail for all data.

    This leaves me two questions:

First, is this necessary in biomechancis research?
Second, how would I do this (I am intending to use excel to collect
data and matlab to analyse it)?

    Thanks in advance,

John Willenbruch PhD student, University of Brighton
