  • Advanced course on patient-specific modelling in biomechanics

The Laboratory of Biomechanics (Arts et Métiers Paris Tech – CNRS, dir. Pr.
    W. Skalli) proposes an:

'Advanced course on patient-specific modelling in biomechanics'

    ENSAM, 151 boulevard de l’hôpital 75013 Paris

    17th-21st of March 2008

The objective of this course is to provide students with an introduction to
the methods required for patient-specific models. The program is based on 1/
anatomy and clinical issues, 2/ geometric modelling from medical images and
patient specific mesh, 3/materials properties, 4/ Patient-specific loads and
muscle modelling, 5/ models validation, 6/ Applications in biomechanics of
    the musculo-skeletal system.

    Detailed program on http://www.laboratoire-biomecanique.fr

In addition to a series of lectures,

    Three conferences from outstanding speakers:
    - Pr. Jean Dubousset, Orthopaedic surgeon, Member of the National
    Academy of Medicine
    - Pr. Mathias Fink, Physicist, specialist in medical imaging, Member
of the National Academy of Science
    - Dr. Jean-Yves Le Coz, Physician and engineer, Head of the car safety
    policy department, Renault Group

Laboratory sessions are also organized to guide the students towards a
better understanding of the theoretical concepts.
