Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit papers to The Symposium on Frontiers in Cardiovascular Engineering as part of 2008 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition,
which will be held on October 31 – November 6, 2008, Boston, Massachusetts. Please note that the deadline for paper submission is MARCH 3, 2008. For detail of the symposium and paper submission, please visit the conference website: http://www.asmeconferences.org/congress08/.
The Symposium on Frontiers in Cardiovascular Engineering focuses on the applications of various engineering concepts such as modeling, development of new biomaterials, novel imaging techniques and tissue engineering on cardiovascular applications. Authors and presenters are invited to participate in this symposium to expand international cooperation, understanding and promotion of efforts and disciplines in implementing of various engineering techniques in cardiovascular engineering. Dissemination of knowledge by presenting research results, new developments, and novel concepts in developing these systems will serve as the foundation for this track. A variety of sessions are available for presentations as it allows flexibility to the authors. The topics are included but not limited to:
• Heart valve biomechanics
• Advances in cardiovascular biomaterials
• Advances in cardiovascular imaging
• Stent and stent drug delivery systems
• Heart valve tissue engineering
• Computational modeling of cardiovascular devices
• Any other topic related to cardiovascular engineering
Prospective authors should submit an up to 400-word abstract via the web tool at the Congress 2008 website (http://www.asmeconferences.org/congress08/) by March 3, 2008. With acceptance of this draft abstract, an extended two-page abstract should be submitted by June 2, 2008. Final papers will be available on CD-ROM at the meeting. See Conference website for a detailed publication schedule.
