Position: R&D Engineer
Project Description: Manual wheelchair users are at considerable risk of
developing upper limb overuse injuries. We have an active biomechanics
research program aimed at better understanding physical demand on the
wheelchair user and develop new products to improve wheelchair
ergonomics.
Job Requirements: Requirements include a minimum of a Master of Science
(M.S.) degree in Biomechanics/Kinesiology, Biomechanical Engineering,
Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related
science. The ideal candidate will possess experience in upper extremity
biomechanics or experience in wheelchair propulsion research. Strong
written and oral communication skills are required. Experience with
IRB-approved human subject testing, data acquisition with LabView, SEMG,
motion capture, data processing with MATLAB and statistical analysis
with SPSS is preferred.
