Dear ASB Members, Past-Members, and Future-Members,

Members of the American Society of Biomechanics have been renewing their
memberships and journal subscriptions the past three months. About 60%
of the membership has completed the renewal process. The entire Society
thanks all those individuals who have renewed their memberships.

We now respectfully request that the remaining members complete the
renewal process. Membership renewal is crucial for supporting the major
initiatives undertaken by ASB. These initiatives include supporting four
regional ASB meetings, travel and research awards, printing the ASB
newsletter, and enacting the Society's Strategic Plan
(http://www.asbweb.org/html/strategic/strategic.html).

We also invite past ASB members to renew their memberships and we invite
Future-members to now join the ASB, i.e. enter the future now. One
benefit for joining this year is that we are combining the annual
meetings of the American and Canadian Societies of Biomechanics into
NACOB 2008, i.e. the North American Congress of Biomechanics. NACOB
meetings are held once every six years and they have been greatly
enjoyed by both Societies. NACOB 2008 will meet in Ann Arbor, Michigan,
August 5-9. The meeting website is: http://www.nacob2008.org/.

Please visit the ASB website: http://www.asbweb.org/ and see the
Membership System links at the top of the page to renew your membership
or become a new member of ASB.

All present and past members, please collect your new username and
password then pay your 2008 dues and subscriptions.

Applicants for new memberships, please click the, "register here," link.

Please also forward this note to anyone who might be interested in
joining the Society including your students and Lab personnel.

Thank you very much for supporting the American Society of Biomechanics.
Please also view the links to the upcoming ASB regional meetings at.
http://www.asbweb.org/. I have attended several regional meetings the
past few years and they are universally regarded as fabulous forums for
young scientists' initial public presentations and professional
development.

With kind regards and apologies to those of you who have already
renewed,

Paul
