BIOMECHANICS TECHNICIAN / RESEARCH ASSISTANT
We are currently accepting applications for a Biomechanics Technician /
Research Assistant, to start September 1st, 2008.
The successful applicant will work with Biomechanigg Research Inc. (BRI)
(www.biomechanigg.com) in the Human Performance Laboratory in the Faculty of
Kinesiology, University of Calgary (www.kin.ucalgary.ca/hpl) . Work will
primarily be carried out on industry projects consisting of biomechanical
data collection, analysis, and report submission. The projects typically
involve the use of human subjects, but are sometimes restricted to dealing
with mechanical systems.
The following are considered to be strong assets for the applicant:
Knowledge of Biomechanics measuring systems, ability to learn and work with
different software packages, ability and desire to do some hands-on
mechanical work, experience in programming (particularly with Matlab), and
the ability to work toward and meet deadlines.
Qualifications: Technical training, Biomechanics, physics or engineering
background or equivalent experience. This full-time position is funded from
external sources and is not a unionized university support staff position.
The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
