    Description:

    Applications are invited for a permanent post in Biomedical Engineering
    at levels up to the position of Associate Professor. Applicants should
    hold a doctorate in electrical, electronic or biomedical engineering
    with research experience in one or more of the following areas:
    biomedical signal processing, bio-imaging, biosensors, implantable
    medical devicesor neural engineering. Successful candidates will be
    expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized,
    externally-funded research programme and to demonstrate a commitment to
    teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Biomedical
    Engineering is one of four strategic research themes within the School
    of Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. The School
    consists of 33 academic and 17 technical staff with approximately 350
    undergraduate students and 200 taught and research postgraduate
    students. University College Dublin is the largest university in Ireland
    and is one of Ireland's foremost research-intensive universities. UCD
    has an established history of Biomedical Engineering research in
    collaboration with a network of collaborators both nationally, through
    the university teaching hospitals, and internationally.




    Qualifications:

    Candidates must hold a primary degree in Electrical or Electronic
    Engineering and a PhD degree in Electrical, Electronic or Biomedical
    engineering with a minimum of 5 years post-doctoral research experience
    in one or more of the following areas: biomedical signal processing,
    bio-imaging, biosensors, implantable medical devices or neural
    engineering.
