POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN MUSCLE FUNCTION/BIOMECHANICS
A postdoctoral position is available for comparative studies of muscle
mechanical function and locomotor biomechanics. The project involves
in vivo and in vitro measurements of muscle and tendon function in
animal models. Techniques to be utilized include muscle contractile
mechanics measurements, sonomicrometry, inverse dynamics, and histology.
The position is within the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department
at Brown University. The department includes state-of-the-art
equipment for comparative biomechanics research and a concentration of
highly collaborative researchers interested in biomechanics and
functional morphology. (http://www.brown.edu/Departments/EEB/research/morphology.htm
)
The position is available beginning July 1, 2008. Applicants should
have a recently completed doctorate and relevant research experience.
Applicants should send a brief statement of research interests, a
c.v., and names of three references to Thomas Roberts at roberts@brown.edu
