  • Job opportunities at the national Centre for Advanced Tribologyat Southampton (nCATS)

Please direct all enquiries regarding opportunites at nCATS to Professor Robert Wood at rjw3@soton.ac.uk or +44 (0)23 8059 4881.

    Dear Colleagues,

Research posts and lectureship opportunities in a new national centre for advanced tribology.

The School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Southampton has recently been awarded approx £10M over 5 years from the UK Government Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), 25 Industrial companies and the University to establish a new national Centre for Advanced Tribology at Southampton (nCATS). We are currently advertising for 5 lectureships (permanent positions), 5 post-doctoral fellowships and 8 PhD and 1 EngD studentships in nCATS. We are, therefore, currently seeking good researchers from a wide range of science and engineering backgrounds that are looking for a challenging academic career in the UK or to study for a PhD within an internationally leading research centre. Further details of nCATS and the posts available can be found at http://www.soton.ac.uk/ses/research/nCATS/index.shtml. nCATS represents an exciting opportunity to be involved in the establishment of this multi-disciplinary national centre and to help set research directions in tribology as well as fulfil personal research goals.

Please feel free to forward this email to colleagues and students who maybe interested.

    Robert
