3DMA-08: Keynote lecture descriptions on website - (Abstract submission open till May 31st)
The 3DMA-08 keynote lectures address the current leading issues in 3D analysis of human movement. One major topic is the merging of new and traditional methods increasing accuracy and widening the area of application. Another important topic addresses the improvement of body segment kinematics estimation and minimization of motion artifacts by fusing motion capture and biomechanic modeling layers.
Keynotes:
- Dr. Thomas Schön, Linkoping University, Sweden.
'Fusing data from difference sources' (Herman J. Woltring Lecture)
- Prof. Dr. Aurelio Cappozzo, Istituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie, Italy
'The resurrection of 3-D analysis of human movement'
- Dr. Giorgio Grisetti, University of Freiburg, Germany.
'Probablisitic navigation techniques for mobile vehicles and possible consequences for human
motion analysis'
- Prof. Dr. Peter Veltink, University of Twente, The Netherlands
'Movement and force sensing for ambulatory 3D biomechanics'
- Prof. Dr. Michael Schwartz, University of Minnesota, USA.
'Functional Modeling of Joints: A Clinical Perspective'

IMPORTANT DATES
May 31st -- Abstract submission deadline
June 27th -- Notification of acceptance
August 1st -- Early registration deadline
October 26th - 31st -- 3DMA-08 Conference
CONFERENCE THEME
The 3DMA-08 is the 10th biennial meeting of the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB)
The theme of the conference is 'Fusion works'. This theme equally addresses the exciting current achievements and future challenges of the established optometric and the new markerless and sensor based methods. It also reflects developments merging motion capture layer and modeling layers in all methodologies to improve body segment and joint kinematics estimation to achieve the next leap forward in 3D movement analysis.
But most importantly it acknowledges the success of the past 9 meetings as a platform for bringing together industrial and scientific communities to discuss and facilitate the last 2 decades of innovation in the field 3-D analysis of human movement.
