    West Chester University: Post-doctoral Research Associate

    Applications are invited for a post-doctoral researcher to work on the
    mechanics and
    hydrodynamics of swimming by batoid fishes in collaboration with Dr. Frank
    Fish at
    West Chester University. The research is part of an Office of Naval Research
    (ONR)
    funded Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) project
    "Towards a
    mission configurable stealth underwater batoid" in cooperation with the
    University of
    Virginia and Princeton University.

    Candidates must be United States Citizens, or permanent resident aliens, and
    should have
    received a doctorate in biology, zoology, biomechanics, mechanical
    engineering, or a
    closely related field. Experience in ichthyology, hydrodynamics, SCUBA,
    motion
    analysis, statistics, and medical imaging is desirable. The duties of this
    position include
    participation in experimental and computational research focused on ray
    (Batoidea)
    swimming in laboratory and field sites.

    The one-year appointment is anticipated to begin July 1, 2008, renewable for
    up to 2
    additional years based on satisfactory performance. The position will remain
    open until
