Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Dental Biomaterials (Confirmation Path)
DEPARTMENT OF ORAL REHABILITATION FACULTY OF DENTISTRY
The School of Dentistry invites applicants for a full-time, confirmation
path position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biomaterials in the Department
of Oral Rehabilitation.
The responsibilities of the position include undergraduate and postgraduate
teaching in biomaterials to dental, dental technology, dental hygiene and
dental therapy students. The appointee will be required to participate in
research focused on developing the materials aspects of dental clinical and
laboratory practice and must be willing to supervise undergraduate and
postgraduate research projects. The University understands that there will
be a learning period in the biological sciences for science or engineering
appointees. Applicants with a dental background should preferably have a
higher degree in a related discipline.
The Department of Oral Rehabilitation is responsible for teaching
Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry, Cariology, Endodontics, Biomaterials,
Clinical Dental Technology and Dental Technology, at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. Staff also contribute to courses in other departments
where their expertise is required.
The Department and the Faculty of Dentistry support enrolment in higher
degree programmes including PhD or DDSc.
The date of commencement for this appointment will be set by mutual
agreement.
