  • Four Day Course in Musculoskeletal Biomechanics

    Cornell University presents a course on Musculoskeletal Biomechanics from August 3rd to 7th, 2008, at the Crowne Plaza Resort, Lake Placid, New York. The Course Director is Tim Wright, PhD from Hospital for Special Surgery; other faculty include Steve Arnoczky, DVM (Michigan State), Marjolein van der Meulen, PhD (Cornell) and Larry Bonassar, PhD (Cornell).

    Purpose of the Course
    The course is intended to provide knowledge and analytical skills in basic concepts governing the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system Course topics range from implant materials and their use in bone-implant systems to comparative orthopaedic models involving bone, cartilage, ligament, and tendon. Didactic lectures are integrated with hands on mechanical testing laboratories. Attendees from biology, medical, and engineering backgrounds but without formal training in biomechanics will benefit most
