Group Leader in Tissue Engineering: Cell Harvesting, Bioabsorbable
Scaffolds, Tissue Implants
A position for group leader is offered by a new Bioengineering Research
Centre located in Zaragoza (Spain). Candidates should have 5-10 years of
relevant international experience working either with different tissues
or biological materials in engineering applications or in cellular
therapy techniques for the treatment of different musculoskeletal
diseases. Experience in one or more of the following areas will be
beneficial: bone/cartilage tissue engineering applications, novel
preparations for cell proliferation and cell harvesting,
mechano-biological characterization of novel biomaterials in
bone/cartilage scaffoldings, development of drug and cell
release-systems to induce tissue regeneration, animal models for tissue
regeneration using implanted biomaterials, computational models focused
on the interaction between tissues and biomaterials.
It is expected that the candidate will have a significant expertise in
in-vitro and in-vivo experiments, and in clinical treatments. He/she
should be able of developing an intense multidisciplinary cooperation
with other research groups with expertise in biomaterials and modelling
of living tissues.
Successful candidates must have:
