Lecturer in Sports Biomechanics, Centre for Sports Studies, Faculty of Health, University of Canberra, Australia.

The Faculty of Health is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Lecturer (Level B) who will be expected to teach in the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, the Master of Exercise Science degrees, and to supervise postgraduate research students. Applicants for Level B appointment should have a Doctoral qualification in Biomechanics or allied field, extensive experience in tertiary level teaching and a strong research record including significant output and funding achievements, as well as current involvement in teaching exercise and sport science.

The primary role of the position is to manage technical aspects of the Laboratory's state-of-the-art sophisticated biomechanics measurement and data analysis systems, which enable accurate quantification of human motion in both the laboratory and field-based environments.

Position Environment:
The Centre for Sports Studies is committed to developing innovative strategies, based on rigorous applied biomechanics research, to optimise sporting performance. The Centre for Sports Studies has established links with the Australian Institute of Sport and the Australian Sports Commission as well as a number of elite high profile sporting teams based in Canberra. We can support you with new equipment and facilities, including a motion analysis lab, indoor running track with moveable force plates, high speed cameras, GPS systems, and a range of exciting research possibilities including working with industry and academics from related disciplines.

If successful, you will develop and implement an expanded biomechanics teaching program, help optimise the teaching laboratories and contribute to the Sports Science related area of performance analysis. Research supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students is also an integral component of the position. This is a continuous or fixed term appointment at Level B. The duration and level of appointment will be dependent upon the experience of the successful applicant.
