  • Bioengineering position at Yale Biomechanics Laboratory

    Applications are invited for a bioengineering position at the Biomechanics
    Research Laboratory, Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Yale
    University School of Medicine.

    The successful candidate will:
    - have recently completed a Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Biomedical or
    Mechanical Engineering with special interest in biomechanics of the human
    spine.
    - have experience with experimental testing of cadaveric spine models.
    - have experience with manuscript writing and preparation.
    - have knowledge of solid mechanics, kinematics theory, computer
    programming, and instrumentation.
    - be self-starting, independent, and motivated with excellent
    interpersonal communication skills and work habits.

    Current and future projects in our lab include:
    - Neck injury prevention during whiplash
    - Effect of orthoses on spine stability

    The position is limited to one year. It may be extended depending upon
    the candidate's performance during the first year and availability of
    funding. Those with Ph.D. will be considered for Post-doctoral Associate,
    while those with B.S. or M.S. will be considered for Post-graduate
