* * * KINESIOLOGY/BIOMECHANICS * * *
This position involves teaching, coaching, research, and service.
Applicants must be comfortable working in an enviornment that encourages
practical application of discipline specific knowledge in a sport
context (i.e., coaching). The successful candidate will be expected
to teach undergraduate courses in kinesiology, biomechanics and related
areas of expertise; serve as a head or assistant coach; provide leader-
ship in the further development of the biomechanics lab (with includes
a Peak5 computer-assisted digitizing system); and develop a research
program leading to publication in refereed journals.
The REQUIRED qualifications for this tenure-track position include
1) an earned doctorate degree or ABD, with a primary emphasis in kines-
iology/biomechanics; 2) an interest and ability to coach in a Division III
athletic program and, 3) the ability to teach a culturally diverse
student body. It is PREFERRED that the candidate have 1) an under-
graduate degree in physical education; 2) experience teaching either
in kinesiology/biomechanics at the college level; 3) successful coaching
experience at either the high school or college level; and 4) evidence
of scholarly ability.
SALARY AND RANK:
The rank shall be at Assistant Professor and a competitive salary
will be commensurate with experience.
