    The Kinesiology and Health Promotion Department at California State
    Polytechnic University, Pomona seeks a Full Time Lecturer in
    Biomechanics.



    POSITION TITLE AND DESCRIPTION: Biomechanics. Full-time, academic year,
    temporary position, beginning Fall 2008. The primary responsibility of
    the successful candidate will be to teach specialized undergraduate
    courses in biomechanics and movement anatomy, and serve on departmental
    committees. In addition, this individual is welcome to pursue research
    collaboration with faculty within the department and university. The
    finalists will be required to appear for interviews.



    Kinesiology and Health Promotion is a vibrant and diverse department
    with over 400 majors in Exercise Science, Pedagogy, and Health Promotion
    concentrations. The faculty are actively involved in research and
    scholarship, with multiple projects supported by external funding. In
    addition, a new biomechanics laboratory was recently completed, which
    houses a Vicon optical motion capture system, 2 AMTI force platforms,
    and a 16 channel EMG system.



    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned master's degree in Kinesiology with a
    specialization in biomechanics and/or ABD in Kinesiology with
    biomechanics emphasis, or related discipline, Ph.D preferred. Previous
    teaching experience desired. Demonstrated knowledge in teaching
    biomechanics and skill in technology applied to classroom and
    biomechanics laboratory work.



    CLOSING DATE and HOW TO APPLY: To be considered for the position,
    applicants are required to submit a letter of application, completed

    highest degree earned (from an accredited educational institution) and
    full contact information for three references. Initial review of
    applications will begin August 1, 2008 and will continue until position

    examination by all tenured and probationary faculty of the department.
