    Position Available:

    Biomechanical Engineer/Senior Research Technician

    The Griffin Laboratory in the Free Radical Biology and Aging Program
    at the Oklahoma
    Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) seeks an individual to assist in
    musculoskeletal
    engineering research on the topics of osteoarthritis, obesity, and
    physical activity.

    Minimum Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Biomedical Engineering or
    related discipline and
    a minimum of three years research experience in biomechanics or a
    related field. The
    ideal candidate will be able to work independently as well as in a
    group setting that
    involves interdisciplinary interactions with faculty, staff, and
    students. Previous research
    experience in the musculoskeletal system highly desirable,
    particularly in mechanical
    testing. Computer programming and excellent written and verbal
    communication skills
    required. Experience with the following strongly preferred: LabView,
    Matlab, CAD
    software, load-frame equipment, and strain-gages.

    Responsibilities Include: Implementation and management of several
    interdisciplinary
    biomechanics research projects involving small animals, whole joints,
    and tissue
    specimens. Duties will also include the design and construction of
    testing apparatus, data
    collection, and assistance in preparation of abstracts, manuscripts,
    and grant proposals.
