Position Title: Assistant Professor of Sport and Exercise Science (Exercise Physiology)

Qualifications and Experience:
This full-time, nine month, tenure-track position requires an earned doctorate in exercise science or related field by date of hire. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in traditional and online settings, scholarly activity, ability to secure outside funding, and an interest in serving the profession. Candidate must have a background and expertise in exercise physiology. Teaching experience at the college/university level is desired, but not necessary. We seek an individual conducting original research in one of the following two general areas: human performance or cancer rehabilitation. Responsibilities will include, teaching relevant undergraduate and graduate courses; conduct independent and collaborative research; advise and supervise research of undergraduate and graduate exercise science students; serve on school and university committees; and enhance the school?s exercise science program.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of UNC employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for Dependent Tuition Grants. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position. Opportunities for summer instruction may be available.
