    The Department of Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering at Boise State
    University seeks candidates with expertise in solid body mechanics for a
    tenure-track opening in our department. In particular, we seek
    high-energy, collaborative, and creative individuals who are dedicated
    to making significant contributions in scholarship and teaching. Faculty
    members are sought who strive to integrate scholarship with teaching
    involving both undergraduate and graduate students.
    Responsibilities:
    -Make balanced contributions in teaching, research, and service
    -Supervise undergraduate and graduate students
    -Collaborate with existing faculty and local industry
    -Develop sustainable funded research programs
    Appointments are targeted for the assistant professor level; however,
    candidates with exceptional qualifications will be considered for
    appointment at the associate professor level.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    -An earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
    -Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and education
    -Have or be on track to obtain a Professional Engineering license
    Preferred Qualification:
    -Expertise and interests which complement the department’s research
    activities in energy, biomechanics, and design
    The College of Engineering is particularly dynamic and collegial, with
    rapidly growing graduate programs, widely respected ABET accredited
    undergraduate programs and within the top 15 of recent US News & World
    Report rankings among public comprehensive institutions. In addition the
    college enjoys strong support from the high tech industry located in
    Idaho and the Intermountain West. Boise State University is a member of
    the state system of higher education and is the largest university in
    Idaho, with an enrollment of more than 19,000 students and has many
    family-friendly policies in place. The university is located in Idaho’s
    capital city and largest metropolitan area, which serves as the
    government, business, economic, health care, and cultural center of the
    state. The Boise area is home to an expanding array of high technology
    companies, regional medical centers, and a growing service industry. The
    city is convenient to outdoor recreation including world-class
    whitewater rivers, skiing, mountain-biking, hunting, fishing, and
    camping.
