    Post doc and PhD positions: Spinal Mechanics

    Location: Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Alberta
    (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)

    Job description: These positions are supported by funding from the NIH
    and are set within the Department of Physical Therapy in the Faculty of
    Rehabilitation Medicine. Each position provides an opportunity to work
    with biological tissues, human subjects and cutting edge technology in
    the fields of spinal mechanics. The ideal candidates will be eager
    self-starters who are able to work with, and be part of, a
    multidisciplinary research team. The candidates should also be competent
    in written and spoken English. Desirable skills include, but are not
    limited to, the following:

    *Basic knowledge of materials testing

    *Comfort with the testing of biological tissues

    *Understanding of robotics and robotic control

    *Ability to transform data between coordinate systems

    *Effective management of human research subjects

    *Programming experience

    Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. Student and post-doc
    benefits are available.

    Start date: Immediate - early 2009.
