    3DMA-08 Update -- 3DMA-08 Industrial partner and Research group presentations
    (www.3DMA-08.org)

    Topics of this update:
    1. Research Group presentations
    2. Industrial Partner presentations
    3. Round table discussion: 'Standardization in Ambulatory 3D Analysis of Human Movement'

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    === 1. Research Group presentations ===
    Additionally to 5 key note and many free oral and interactive presentations
    @ 3DMA-08 the following 7 research groups will present their organisation, work and plans
    in an interactive presentation.

    - LABLAB -- Laboratorio di Bioingegneria dell'Apparato Locomotore,
    Instituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie, Rome, Italy
    - The Virtual Physiological Human Network of Excellence (VPH-NoE),
    Laboratory of Anatomy, Biomechanics and Organogenesis of the
    Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium
    - Gait Laboratory at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia
    - Roessingh Research and Development / FreeMotion Research Consortium,
    Enschede, The Netherlands
    - Movement Science Group Vienna, Austria
    - INAIL Prosthetic Center / DEIS University of Bologna, Italy
    - Vrije Universiteit Medical Center -- Department of Rehabilitation, Amsterdam

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    === 2. Industrial Partner presentations ===
    @ 3DMA-08 6 Industrial Partners fully participate in the scientific program.
    A listing of their oral presentations:

    '6 DOF Motion Analysis Using Inertial Sensors',
    Daniel Roetenberg, Xsens Technologie
    'Real-Time Animation Production',
    Tom Whitaker, MotionAnalysis

    === 3. Round table discussion:===
    === 'Standardization in Ambulatory 3D Analysis of Human Movement' ===

    Ambulatory methodologies for 3D Analysis of Human Movement are maturing.
    Simultaneously the confusion about obtained and published results is growing.
    This calls for a joint international effort for standardization to accelerate further
    innovation and research.
    Ideas for such an attempt will discussed.

    Open for all 3DMA-08 participants.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    See you all October 28-31 in Santpoort / Amsterdam @ 3DMA-08!

    IMPORTANT DATES
    October 28th - 31st -- 3DMA-08 Conference

    CONFERENCE THEME
    The theme of the conference is 'Fusion works'. This theme equally addresses the exciting current
    achievements and future challenges of the established optometric and the new markerless and
    sensor based methods. It also reflects developments merging motion capture layer and modeling
    layers in all methodologies to improve body segment and joint kinematics estimation to achieve
    the next leap forward in 3D movement analysis.
    But most importantly it acknowledges the success of the past 9 meetings as a platform for bringing
    together industrial and scientific communities to discuss and facilitate the last 2 decades ofinnovation
    in the field 3-D analysis of human movement.
