At KU Leuven (Belgium), a full-time position for a doctoral student or
postdoctoral Fellow is available for 4 years at the Faculty of Engineering
(Prof. De Schutter) in close collaboration with the Faculty of kinesiology
and rehabilitation Science (Dr. Jonkers).
The project is titled 'From generic towards subject-specific musculoskeletal
and musculotendon models for simulation of human motion.'
The objective of this project is to simulate human motion using a subject
specific dynamic model instead of a scaled generic dynamic model and to
validate these simulations. To achieve this objective, a method needs to be
developed to individualize the parameters of the musculotendon model based
on dynamometry experiments.
Starting date could be as early as January 1st 2009, but applications will
be accepted till the position is filled.
We only welcome candidates with an engineering background and strong
interest for optimization problems. As this project is part of a larger
multi-disciplinary project, a strong interest to work in an
interdisciplinary environment is mandatory. The candidate will be expected
to assist in experimental work involving healthy and pathologic subjects.
For further information, please contact ilse.jonkers@faber.kuleuven.be.
To apply, send a detailed CV including a motivational statement.
