Position Title: Assistant Professor in Motor Behavior/Biomechanics
Kinesiology Division, School of Human Movement, Sport and Leisure Studies
The Kinesiology Division faculty, who are dedicated to the science of human movement, seek a colleague with
expertise in Motor Learning/Biomechanics to join our community of scholars.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in motor learning, biomechanics, sport conditioning and/or functional anatomy;
2. Conduct a focused line of scholarly activity in the area(s) of motor learning and/or biomechanics that complement current faculty expertise;
3. Disseminate research findings in peer-reviewed, scholarly journals and at professional meetings;
4. Attract external funding for scholarly activities;
5. Advise undergraduate Exercise Science majors and Masters students in Kinesiology;
6. Participate in activities in the Biomechanics and Motor Behavior Laboratory;
7. Supervise field experiences in Exercise Science;
8. Perform service activities in the Division, School, University and Profession.
Professional Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate in motor behavior/biomechanics (ABD considered);
2. Clear evidence of research potential as evidenced by publications and external grant funding;
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction with evidence of effective teaching at the university level;
4. Expertise in additional area(s) (e.g., sport conditioning, research design/statistics, measurement and/or athletic training) is desirable.
Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience.
