CALL FOR PAPERS: Image based meshing for material characterisation
Dear colleague,
I am pleased to invite you to submit an abstract and participate in the
Mini-Symposium "2.1.14 Image based meshing for material
characterisation" (http://usnccm-10.eng.ohio-state.edu/MS1.htm)
within the 10th US National Congress on Computational Mechanics (USNCCM-10)
Columbus, Ohio, USA
16 - 19 July 2009

The mini-symposium invites papers looking at recent developments in
generating image based models suitable for carrying out physics based
simulations with an emphasis not just on what is currently achievable
but also on the limitations of currently available technology which need
to be addressed. Typical application would be computational modelling of
structural response of open celled foams and composites based on X-ray
tomography and serial sectioning data and modelling flows through packed
beds.
A frank discussion of both the opportunities and the challenges faced
when modelling materials using image data will be encouraged.
Important dates and Instructions:
- Deadline for abstract submission: 31 January 2009;
- Authors notification: 1 March 2009;
