  • PhD studentships in London area: Comparative Biomechanics

    Hello,

On behalf of the Structure and Motion Laboratory and others in The Royal
Veterinary College (U of London), here are some new PhD scholarships (for
UK/EU residents) just advertised online at:

    http://www.rvc.ac.uk/Postgraduate/PhD/PhD.cfm

Titles most relevant to biomechanists include (supervisors in brackets):
    1. Relationships of foot anatomy, impact mechanics, and pathogenesis in
large mammals (John Hutchinson et al.)

    2. 3D computer animations for improved recognition of movement asymmetry in
horses (Thilo Pfau and Prof. Stephen May)

    3. Neural control of insect locomotion on soft surfaces (Andrew Spence et
    al.)

Deadline for applications is 13th February 2009.

Interview Dates are 9th March 2009 (Hawkshead Campus) and 11th March 2009
    (Camden Campus).

It is strongly suggested that you contact potential supervisors for more
details in projects you might be interested in, and see our lab website
    (below).

    Cheers,
    John
