Hello,
A physical therapist in our organization came to our lab to discuss the potential of offering a clinical running analysis service for able bodied individuals (using motion capture technology, not bi-planar video alone). I'm looking to tap into the knowledge of somebody with experience in this area, especially in the U.S.A. We have questions about reimbursement and the clinical utility of such a service.
1. On average, what is your % reimbursement by insurance for your service?
a. If you are billing insurance companies, what CPT code(s) are you using?
2. What percent of subjects are willing to self pay for the service?
3. Have there been any studies on the topic of the clinical utility of this service (or do you have any thoughts on this)?
4. Do your subjects run on an instrumented treadmill or over ground?
