Assistant Professor in Residence/Regular
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, School of Medicine, University of
California, Davis is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor in
Residence/Regular position. This is a 50/50 appointment in the In
Residence series and Regular series at the Assistant Professor level. A
PhD in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or other doctoral degree
with appropriate experience is required.
The candidate must have experience in mechanical testing, with a
background in orthopaedic biomechanics preferred. Experience with
application for competitive research funding is desired. Experience with
cell and tissue biological techniques is highly desirable. The candidate
will work with clinical faculty from the Department about 20% time to
assist with clinical research projects. The remainder of the position
will be to develop an independent academic research program.
Collaboration with members of the remainder of the University including
the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Veterinary Medicine,
Department of Engineering and others are expected.
