MSc Scholarships Electrical Muscle Stimulation at University College Dublin
The UCD School of Physiotherapy and Performance Science and the affiliated
Institute of Sport and Health currently have a number of research MSc
scholarships available for suitably qualified and highly motivated
individuals. The successful candidates will join our expanding research
group in conducting a series of studies on neuromuscular electrical
stimulation (NMES) on humans as part of an Innovation Partnership with
Biomedical Research (Neurotech) Ltd, an international leader in the field.
This project has been made possible with the support of Enterprise
Ireland. The multidisciplinary team is focusing on novel NMES effects in
diabetes (type 2), spinal cord injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary
disorders, microgravity exercise, applications in sport, as well as the
physiological effects of new NMES technologies.
Candidates should have or should be about to obtain a primary degree in
medicine, exercise science, physiology or physiotherapy. The start date is
flexible. The scholarship includes a monthly stipend and EU fees.
